FaithTrust Institute is delighted to announce the publication of our newest resource. Why Faith Matters is a handbook for advocates and allies that highlights the significant role that religion and spirituality plays in the lives of many survivors of sexual violence.

Helping advocates recognize the key religious/spiritual questions and issues that may arise in the aftermath of sexual violence and abuse, Why Faith Matters offers ways for advocates to recognize and respectfully address a survivor's potential religious concerns.

Based upon interviews with spiritual leaders, religious scholars, practitioners, advocates, and survivors, Why Faith Matters includes the following traditions: American Indian/Alaska Native, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.

You can find more information about Why Faith Matters in our online store. It is available as a PDF download so you can access it immediately. Until the end of 2019, Why Faith Matters is available at a discounted introductory price of $5.

In addition, we're creating a library of videos created by religious leaders and experienced advocates to explore some of these critical issues more deeply. Visit our YouTube channel to watch these videos. If you would like to make a video to help educate advocates about issues  from your spiritual tradition that survivors may encounter, please email learning@faithtrustinstitute.org for more information.

Why Faith Matters was supported by a grant from RALIANCE Foundation.
