Imagine a time with no violence. "How would it look and feel? How can we make it happen?" These questions were the driving force behind the Imagine No Violence Summit, sponsored by the Tillamook County Women's Resource Center, September 9-10, 2010, in Tillamook, Oregon.
FaithTrust Institute's Founder and Senior Analyst, Rev. Dr. Marie M. Fortune, provided a keynote address, "It Takes a Village to End Domestic Violence," on how religious and secular communities can work together.
Naming Fortune as one of her heroes, Carol L. Brown, summit attendee and United Methodist clergy, wrote a guest commentary for the Tillamook Headlight Herald about the impact that this event had on her. She discusses the "Subtle Changes to End Violence" that she is making and encourages an increased awareness of how our culture perpetuates violence.
