Put Your Activism To Work Right Now
The New York Times is right on this one. If politicians are serious about fixing the perception that they don’t understand or care about women, they would do well to move quickly to pass the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) immediately.

Since it first passed in 1994, VAWA has always had bipartisan support. At least we could agree that violence against women was a bad thing and we should try to do something about it. But this time when VAWA came up for reauthorization, some politicians decided to politicize the vote and focus on denying support for LGBT and immigrant victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
All people deserve a world free from violence and all women and girls deserve support for dealing with gender based violence.
So during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, contact your Representative NOW and urge support for the Senate version of the Reauthorization of VAWA.
